Let Love Lead You

“Let all that you do be done in love.”
1 Corinthians 16:14

Watch & listen to today's devotional

Love is one of the clearest ways we can allow the light of Christ to be seen through our lives.

Jesus did not call us to love only the people who agree with us, understand us, or treat us well. He calls us to love because God first loved us.

“We love him, because he first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19

Christian love is more than a feeling.

Love can be patience when someone is difficult. Love can be forgiveness when we have been hurt. Love can be kindness when no one is watching. Love can be praying for someone who is struggling. Love can be choosing our words carefully instead of responding in anger.

And sometimes love means setting a healthy boundary while still refusing to hate.

A Moment With God

Take a few quiet minutes today. Close your eyes and breathe slowly.

As you breathe in, say: “Jesus, fill my heart with Your love.” As you breathe out, say: “Help me love as You love.”

Now think of one person who needs God’s love today. Bring that person before Jesus. You don’t have to change them. Simply pray: “Lord, bless them, help them, and draw them closer to You.”

Then ask God: “Lord Jesus, is there someone You want me to encourage today?” Remain quiet for a moment and listen with your heart grounded in Scripture.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me with a love that I could never earn. Thank You for sending Jesus Christ to show us what love looks like. Fill my heart with Your love today. Remove bitterness, resentment, anger, pride, and unforgiveness. Teach me to speak with kindness. Teach me to listen with compassion. Teach me to forgive. Teach me to serve. Teach me to love even when it is difficult. Holy Spirit, help me become a reflection of Jesus in my home, my workplace, my community, and everywhere I go. Let my words bring encouragement. Let my actions bring help. Let my presence bring hope. May everything I do point people toward Christ. Let love lead me today. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Today’s Challenge

Before the day ends, intentionally show Christ’s love to one person.

Send an encouraging message. Pray with someone. Help someone who is struggling. Forgive someone. Or simply listen.

You may never know how much a small act of love can mean to someone who is hurting.

Love is one of the ways we show the world who Jesus is.
