New Mercies Every Morning
“Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
There is a quiet miracle in the sunrise. The same God who hung the sun in place decided that every single day you would receive a fresh supply of mercy — not leftovers, not the remainder of what you did not use up, but new mercy, measured for today.
Jeremiah wrote these words in the ruins of a broken city. He was not writing from comfort; he was writing from ashes. And still he could say, great is your faithfulness. That is the testimony we carry: even when circumstances collapse, the compassion of God does not.
Whatever you carried into last night — the argument, the diagnosis, the closed door — you are not required to carry it into this morning alone. Lay it down. Receive what has already been given.
Prayer
Father, thank You for mercy that meets me before I even wake. Teach me to walk in today's grace and to leave yesterday at Your feet. In Jesus' name, amen.
