The Peace That Stands Guard

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6-7

Paul uses a military word: the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds. A guard implies there is something worth protecting and something trying to get in.

Anxiety knocks. It always will. But prayer with thanksgiving changes who answers the door.

Name the thing today. Say it out loud to God. Then thank Him — not for the trouble, but for who He is inside of it.

Prayer

God of peace, I bring You what has been keeping me awake. Post Your peace at the door of my mind and let nothing steal my rest tonight. Amen.
